Job Description Summary:

Position is responsible for the development of new products and/or technologies or the improvement of existing products and/or technologies. Prepares and coordinates projects according to established schedules and costs and ensures that the company standards of quality are met.

Maybe formally or informally responsible for leading a group of less experienced scientists. Individual contributor and an acknowledged expert both within and outside of the organization. Participates in industry/knowledge reference groups and requires mastery of a specialized discipline and a thorough understanding of a number of associated disciplines.


·Define and write global policies and requirements related to their subject matter expertise

·Works closely with the audit team and labs to ensure appropriate governance is in place to monitor performance in manufacturing facilities for good microbiology practices

·Provide virtual consulting support to BUs and Bottling Partners around the world to diagnose and solve specific problems related to microbiology

·Accountable and responsible for technical training content for microbiology

·Collaborate internally, with academic institutions and with external bodies to ensure requirements remain current and reflect the latest thinking in this area of expertise

·Share best practices and wire together the system community of experts to raise our collective capability in this area of expertise.

Internal and External communications:

  • Is a recognized subject matter expert across the Company and works closely with other relevant functions
  • Works with employer federations and external communities of practice
  • Works with Universities and Academic Institutions
  • Builds alignment across the System - working with Technical Function Heads, BU Technical Directors and System Partners
  • Represents the Company at relevant conferences and events
  • Collaborates within all areas of the Technical function to maintain microbiology requirements, knowledge and training content.

Minimum Education Required:

Master's Degree required in the Sciences

Minimum Experience required:

  • At least 10 years of relevant experience
  • Deep expertise in SME topic area
  • Operations and field experience
