The Director, Shopper Marketing will lead strategic alignment throughout all shopper specific activations, aligned to company, customer and bottler priorities.  This role will play a critical part in advancing our partnership with all Walmart marketing and consumer touchpoints by developing Omnichannel growth plans and strategic relationships. This position reports to the Group VP, Shopper Marketing Walmart/Sam's Club and will work with other shopper marketing team members as well as Sales and other cross-functional partners.

Function Specific Activities:

  • Leads shopper marketing strategy through the understanding of macro shopper trends that will drive both annual and long-term growth.
  • Amplifies key shopper marketing platforms that support both our system as well as our customer's long-term growth plans and JBP initiatives.
  • Influences compelling path to purchase plans with shopper marketing team (i.e.: pre-shop, shop merchandising materials and post analysis) to support the platforms.
  • Manages and understands shopper marketing budgets to ensure positive return on investment for the customer and The Coca Cola Company.
  • Works collaboratively with cross functional partners to drive the positive impact for the system through our marketing programs.
  • Grows relationship with Walmart key stakeholders (WMG, Marketing, Retailtainment, etc.) maintaining on-going relationships to develop joint objectives, strategies and implementation of plans to drive business growth.
  • Leads shopper agency annual planning relationship  
  • Provides guidance to shopper marketing managers on brief development to clearly articulate communication objectives and success criteria to inform and direct agency work.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor s degree; MBA preferred

Related Work Experience:

Minimum Required:

  • At least 9 years' experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry
  • People leadership/management
  • Leadership across cross-functional teams
  • Experience in Developing Shopper Marketing Strategies and Plans

Preferred Level:

  • 12 years' experience, preferably in the consumer goods/beverages industry
  • Extensive Marketing and Sales Experience (particularly in area of Shopper Marketing)
  • Understanding of Walmart's Omni-channel strategy and direction
  • Customer/Sales management experience
  • Brand management experience
  • Understanding of DSD route-to-market system
