Job Description Summary
The Sr. Manager, Contract Manufacturing Procurement directly impacts Cost of Goods (COGS), Product Quality, and Product Availability for key Coca-Cola North America products and brands. This position reports to the Director of Procurement and provides guidance, leadership and direction for contracts and categories affecting $500 million in annual spend. This role will work with key members of the CCNA Supply Chain (SC) to ensure that all sourcing initiatives and strategies are aligned with business requirements. This role will also interface with external 3rd party leadership teams within Coca-Cola North America's business to engage, negotiate and drive overall contract and operational value.

The primary objectives and responsibilities of the role are:

  • Act of subject matter expert for contract manufacturing and repackaging contracts including in-depth knowledge of market capabilities, economic cost drivers, supplier financials and market competition.
  • Management of supplier relationships for Manufacturing and Repacking across multiple regions and contract packers in North America and Mexico. (up to President / CEO level)
  • Negotiate, implement and manage long-term strategic contracts to ensure optimum costs and reliable supply.
  • Develop a pipeline of qualified potential contract manufacturers capable of meeting the current and future business requirements of the CCNA Supply Chain.·
  • Develop and implement procurement processes inclusive of short and long term category strategy development and execution of market RFPs.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of core 7-step sourcing principles.
  • Develop, prioritize and manage cost savings through productivity and continuous improvement initiatives within area of responsibility.
  • Benchmark supply alternatives to competitively position best cost solutions.
  • Support development of make vs buy models and decisions.
  • Assess supplier and platform risks and develop appropriate contingency plans.
  • Ensure all contract manufacturing relationships are governed by contracts that align with corporate mandates and support key business requirements while ensuring continuity of supply at the lowest total delivered cost.
  • Identify and drive initiatives that improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the CCNA supply chain through partnership with internal CCNA leadership and CCNA's contract manufacturers.
  • Develop relationships and support the integration of new emerging brands and products to ensure integration into the CCNA supply chain.
  • Assemble and analyze large quantities of data and conduct in depth analysis of the data, such as should-cost models, benchmarking, etc.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations for executive review.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities (Top 5-8 core responsibilities)

  • Provide key stakeholders with SME leadership and guidance
  • Build consensus and drive alignment amongst key stakeholders in support of procurement initiatives and programs (sourcing, implementation, compliance)
  • Seek opportunities for MWBE suppliers
  • Lead/support RFI's and RFP's as required
  • Execute and monitor action plans and report progress against strategies to address issues/improve performance
  • Support escalated efforts to resolve DMR claims in a timely matter
  • Through collaborative efforts with suppliers and internal stakeholders, identify innovative initiatives that reduce costs, improve quality, and/or improve service across the CCNA SC
  • Model “Make vs. Buy” scenarios
  • Build “should cost” financial models to understand cost structures in support of sourcing events and efforts to identify cost savings opportunities.

Education Requirements: 

  • Engineering Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.  MBA preferred.

Related Work Experience: 

  • 5+ years of manufacturing and/or procurement experience in the CPG industry, food/beverage experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to drive performance improvements from action plans derived from robust data analysis
  • Demonstrated understanding of supply chain financials and supply chain dynamics
  • Demonstrated ability to model various business scenarios and analyze resulting costs, impacts, risks, and benefits to inform and recommend business solutions.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and suggest improvements to contracts and other legal agreements.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with the 7-step sourcing process
  • Well refined understanding of continuous improvement concepts and principles

Functional Skills:

  • Minimum Level: Proficient Verbal & Written Communication skills, Microsoft (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Problem Solving, Analytical, and Budget Management skills
  • Preferred Level: Advanced understanding of Excel (pivot tables, Vlookup, Boolean logic, etc), and PowerPoint
