Lab Supervisor CRI
The Laboratory Supervisor provides on‑site leadership for daily laboratory operations, coordinating testing activities, workflows, and laboratory technicians at the location where the Laboratory Senior Manager is not physically based. The role ensures timely execution of analyses, adherence to quality and safety standards, and effective communication with the North America Laboratory Senior Manager. The Laboratory Supervisor supports compliance with ISO 17025 and other applicable standards, manages day‑to‑day priorities, and serves as the primary local point of contact to ensure smooth laboratory operations and continuity of service. The Laboratory Supervisor is expected to operate with a high degree of autonomy in managing daily lab operations, enabling the Laboratory Senior Manager to focus on strategic priorities across both CPSNA sites.
Key duties/responsibilities:
Daily Laboratory Operations
- Coordinate and supervise day‑to‑day laboratory activities to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant execution of analytical testing.
- Assign, prioritize, and balance workloads among laboratory technicians to meet operational and business needs.
- Monitor turnaround times, backlog, and resource utilization, escalating risks or delays to the Laboratory Senior Manager.
Quality, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure strict adherence to laboratory procedures, safety practices, and quality standards, including ISO 17025 requirements.
- Support audit readiness and participate in internal, external, regulatory, and corporate audits (ISO, KORE, and other applicable standards).
- Ensure proper documentation, data integrity, sample traceability, and record retention in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Support investigations, root cause analysis, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs).
People Coordination & On‑Site Leadership
- Provide direct, on‑site coordination and guidance to laboratory technicians and analysts, serving as the primary local leader.
- Support onboarding, training, competency assessments, and adherence to qualification requirements.
- Promote a positive, safe, and engaged team environment, addressing day‑to‑day performance or behavior issues.
- Foster a culture of psychological safety, continuous improvement, and quality excellence where every team member feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute.
Communication & Stakeholder Interface
- Act as the primary on‑site point of contact between the laboratory team and the North America Laboratory Senior Manager.
- Communicate priorities, results, issues, and improvement opportunities clearly and proactively.
- Coordinate with Manufacturing, Quality, and other site functions to ensure effective support and issue resolution.
Continuous Improvement & Digital Tools
- Support implementation of laboratory transformation and digitalization initiatives, including LIMS, electronic documentation, and process improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, safety, and workflow within the laboratory.
- Participate in standardization efforts across North America laboratories.
Inventory, Equipment & Facilities Support
- Ensure laboratory equipment is properly maintained, calibrated, and available for use.
- Monitor laboratory supplies, reagents, and consumables, coordinating replenishment as needed.
- Support basic facilities and housekeeping standards to maintain a compliant and efficient lab environment.
Supervisory Responsibilities and Organization Impact/Influence

- Laboratory technicians and analysts at assigned location.
Job Requirements/Qualifications
Type of previous work experience required:
Desirable Experience in the position or similar function as:
- Laboratory Technician
Number of years of previous work experience required:
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a laboratory environment or similar function, with demonstrated progression of responsibility.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Food Science, or a related scientific discipline required.
Technical skills
- Proficiency in analytical testing methods including chemical, physical, microbiological, and sensory analysis applicable to food and beverage products.
- Experience with Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
- Working knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory accreditation requirements and quality management systems.
- Familiarity with nonconforming materials management, CAPA processes, and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Working knowledge of GMP and GLP within a regulated manufacturing environment
- Preferred experience with S4Hana
Leadership skills
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team in a fast-paced, high-accountability environment.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple competing demands and manage time effectively across a multi-shift operation.
- Clear and effective communication skills with the ability to interact professionally at all levels of the organization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a data-driven approach to decision making.
- Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and support change management initiatives.
- Ability to remain focused, make sound decisions, and maintain team stability in an ambiguous or rapidly changing environment.
