Warehouse Supervisor 2nd Shift
About the Role
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for supervising warehouse operators and coordinating daily warehouse activities to ensure safe, efficient, and accurate material handling in a manufacturing environment. This role provides hands‑on leadership, manages operational priorities, ensures system accuracy, and drives continuous improvement across warehouse processes.
Key Responsibilities
Supervision & People Leadership
- Directly supervise, assign, and monitor daily work activities of warehouse operators
- Provide on‑the‑job training, cross‑training, and coaching to develop skill versatility
- Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development plans
- Enforce attendance, productivity, safety, and conduct standards consistently
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and scheduling of warehouse personnel
Warehouse Coordination & Planning
- Coordinate daily inbound, outbound, and internal material movements
- Develop daily and weekly labor plans based on forecasts, production schedules, and shipping requirements
- Manage dock scheduling, carrier check‑in, and yard activities where applicable
- Prioritize work based on business needs, service commitments, and production requirements
- Serve as escalation point for operational disruptions, material shortages, or urgent shipment needs
Safety, Compliance & Quality
- Lead warehouse safety culture through daily observations, audits, and corrective actions
- Ensure compliance with EHS standards, OSHA requirements, and company policies
- Maintain housekeeping and 5S standards throughout the warehouse
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and quality issues; implement corrective actions
Performance Management & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor warehouse KPIs including labor productivity, inventory accuracy, safety, and on‑time shipments
- Analyze operating data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives such as standard work, layout optimization, and process simplification
- Support implementation of automation, digital tools, and system enhancements
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Reporting
- Coordinate with production, planning, procurement, logistics, quality, maintenance, and transportation teams
- Communicate daily priorities, risks, and performance updates to management
- Prepare and deliver shift reports, labor summaries, and performance dashboards
- Support internal and external audits, customer visits, and inspections
Asset & Resource Management
- Monitor condition and utilization of material handling equipment
- Coordinate preventative maintenance and report equipment issues
- Ensure proper use, storage, and accountability of warehouse tools and assets
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 3–5 years of warehouse or manufacturing logistics experience
- Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control, and safety practices
- Proficiency with SAP, and basic Microsoft Office applications
- Strong organizational, leadership, and problem‑solving skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Background performing warehouse coordinator, lead, or team‑lead responsibilities
- Knowledge of Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or continuous improvement tools
- Forklift or material handling equipment certifications
