Director, Retail Sales – DSD Giant Eagle

Job Location: REMOTE: Pittsburgh, PA OR Cleveland, OH

The Director, Retail Sales is a key leadership role responsible for driving growth across Coca-Cola’s beverage portfolio, encompassing multiple brands and categories, both in-store and online. This position focuses on accelerating beverage category growth by developing and executing customer-centric plans that align with Giant Eagle, Bottler, and Coca-Cola Company objectives. The role requires strategic vision, collaborative execution, and a results-driven approach to deliver revenue, profit, and volume targets.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning:

  • Develop customized business plans addressing the critical needs of Giant Eagle and Bottlers while achieving Coca-Cola system profit, revenue, and volume targets.

  • Collaboratively create strategic price/package plans that deliver mutual results for Giant Eagle and the Coca-Cola system.

Operational Excellence:

  • Ensure data accuracy in Giant Eagle and Bottler systems, resolving billing discrepancies and post-audit issues.

  • Partner with Revenue Growth Management to conduct post-promotional analysis, refining price/package plans based on performance insights.

  • Work closely with the Finance Manager to ensure forecast accuracy and achieve plan targets.

Marketing & Execution:

  • Develop and implement marketing programs that drive growth across in-store and omnichannel platforms.

  • Communicate weekly with Bottlers to ensure flawless execution of promotional plans, display commitments, and marketing programs.

  • Sell-in and execute promotional strategies for new brand and package launches.

Data-Driven Insights:

  • Collaborate with Category Management to leverage market insights (Nielsen) and customer data (Symphony EYC) for informed decision-making.

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

Related Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry; beverage experience preferred.

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Proven track record of progressive responsibility in account management within large consumer goods organizations.

  • Expertise in complex selling, with the ability to develop and sell customer-specific promotional programs and initiatives.

  • Strong knowledge of bottler environments, systems, and business development planning.

  • Proficiency in trade fund management and business analytics.

  • General management experience with a strategic mindset.

  • Familiarity with Nielsen and Symphony EYC data for market and customer insights.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage diverse stakeholder needs across multiple business systems.

Pay Range:

$141,000 – $165,200

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
