Director, Public Affairs – Central Zone – CARICOM

As a PACS Director for the Caribbean-CARICOM region you will build a reliable and fluid dynamic among Public Affairs, Communications and  Sustainability to create a healthy environment for  business growth. This position requires decision making on regular basis for advocacy with key stakeholders including government, regulators, NGOs and consumers, who have company and/or product related concerns.

In this role you will be the key player to leverage the positive impact that Coca-Cola has at community level and leading a shared value culture within the System.

What You’ll Do for Us 

  • Know and understand the details of the Business Plan of the company to fully compare and identify barriers within the governmental policy.
  • Coordinate and lead public relations, communications, initiatives to promote and strengthen reputation and value of KO brands within the business.
  • Manage an administrative budget (Opex), and a Programs budget to fund Corporate Social Responsibility programs, as well as to support bottler initiatives.
  • Operate with DME funds when implementing PR strategies for Marketing programs.
  • High level of complexities in communicating strategies, policies, statements, and positioning across the Coca-Cola System including bottling companies as well as Governments (Head of State, Ministers, Senior Bureaucrats) in particular, to ensure support for KO’s business and brands. Communication will be the main pillar of the relationship with ONGs, Medical Community, key opinion leaders, media, community in general and consumers.
  • This role works with all functions within the Company and specially bottlers. Network building with key members of LA OU is also required to import / export best practices and guidelines.
  • This role has main responsibilities in Caribbean-CARICOM region with a high possibility to participate in regional scalable projects for Latin America.

Qualification & Requirements 

  • +9 Years of experience in government relations, stakeholder management or public affairs and sustainability. 
  • Experience working with communications challenges and for multi-national company is preferred.
  • Ability to develop new approaches for spreading the new shared value business model and culture
  • High level of leadership, influence and relationship building skills is required, to deal with government, NGOs, and industry representatives across the system and to maximize opportunities to build a stronger engagement platform with all stakeholders in the Caribbean-CARICOM.
