Manager, Cloud Database

We're in the market for a seasoned Cloud Database Engineer. The chosen candidate will be at the helm of our diverse portfolio of existing and undeveloped solutions centered on Cloud and Non-Cloud hosted technologies all aimed at propelling our continually expanding business.

You'll work closely with business and application process owners to support, optimize, and automate the day-to-day operations of some of our most business-critical applications. The initial scope will include our critical and well-established systems within AWS, Azure and On-Premises, but depending on your capacity and ambitions, the sky is the limit here!

What You’ll Do for Us:

  • Technical ownership of the systems – need to learn and understand different use cases of different database Engines within our company, so that competency and confidence can be gradually gained

  • Day to day monitoring and ownership from technical point of view to make sure each database is running as expected

  • Continuous development and optimization of needed processes – participation in critical projects to help find and develop new opportunities to fine tune the environments and automate the routine tasks related with various database engines to ensure stability and quality of the service with close to zero manual effort

  • Collaborating closely with internal business or application owners and external development partners

  • Define and maintain existing and newly standardized Database solutions

  • Proactively suggest possible changes and optimizations in the process and systems

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT or equivalent

  • 4 years’ work experience in Database Administration for either MSSQL or Oracle hosted database environments

  • Able to do database related tasks within Linux and/or Windows Operating Systems.

  • Understanding or hands on experience of Amazon Web Services and Microsoft Azure

  • Able to think critically with strong investigative skills

  • Fluent in English, both verbal and written

  • Strong prioritization and time management skills

  • Strong sense of commitment and accountability
