Director, Brand Management – Non-Green Tea

Within Japan & South Korea Operating Unit (OU) and in collaboration with the OU marketing community: 

  • The role of this position is to lead brand marketing for Tea category. The position is responsible for leading Barley Tea (Yakan no Mugicha) and to demonstrate next level of marketing capability towards other marketing related teams. 
  • Key responsibility is to lead the brand strategy development and execution – translate brand equity building into the entire business uplift. This includes market landscape assessment, aggressive goal setting, robust strategy development and strong plan development and executions including in collaboration with internal & external stakeholders. 
  • Deliver revenue, profit and market share growth by establishing strong Brand Equity.
  • This role is also responsible for coordinating and leading large and complex cross functional teams across Japan & South Korea OU and Bottling partners. 
  • Contribution for entire Non-Green Tea team by capability development of brand managers and strong team building as future potential leader. 

 

What You’ll Do for Us 

  • Develop the compelling growth strategy and solid business plan for sustainable value growth covering brand vision, positioning to growth paths, brand edge enhancement to expand user base, Innovation strategy and pipeline development – Assessment of growth opportunities leveraging consumer insights, idea generation and business case development.
  • Establish optimal portfolio in Non-Green tea and total tea category with clear prioritization and ambition by closely co-working with category head.
  • Develop future product pipeline to contribute to grow revenue and profit in collaboration with related functions, such as R&D, Technical, Procurement, Human Insights, Design, Finance, Legal and Commercialization.
  • Lead brand communication and IMX planning by closely working with band manager, E2E manager, content manager and agency partners.
  • Develop and execute marketing initiatives together with brand manager and related team members – track the brand performance, take prompt actions as needed, and accumulate learning for the next.
  • Manage marketing budget for the responsible brand in alignment with brand strategy and productivity guidelines.
  • Brand business diagnosis and holistic analysis (consumer centric, both macro & market trends, competition, package/VIS, channels, and retail customers).
  • Day to day category/brand performance tracking and presentation material development.
  • Proactively support category head in developing short and mid-long term category business plan.
  • Team capability development & solid team building.

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • Work experience for at least 10 years in the area of brand/product marketing at FMCG including new product development.
  • A well-tuned skill in taking a wealth of consumer research and understanding and arriving at the most important insights for brand strategy development.
  • Strong passion and responsibility to lead the project and deliver results.
