Project Engineer – Utilities
As an Expert Project Engineer (Utilities, Water, and Energy), you will lead the design, delivery, and start-up of all of the utilities and facilities systems for the Greenfield site in Mexico in partnership with global subject matter experts and suppliers. In addition, you will lead the environmental sustainability program for the project and drive design and operational initiatives to meet the goal of being the most sustainable site internally and externally: you will assess the scope to determine their environmental/sustainability needs and provide necessary support, including project justification, during conceptual design of environmental elements. Your expertise will cover all "Reduce" impacts associated with our facility operations, including air, water, wastewater, solid waste, CO2 reduction, and energy conservation. Upon completion of the construction, you will become the utilities and facilities manager of the greenfield site.
What You’ll Do For Us:
Project Management
-
Develop the scope for utilities, including air compressors, chillers, HVAC, and electrical systems, in partnership with engineering and equipment suppliers.

Leverage expertise in industrial systems and utilities , including air, water, wastewater, solid waste, CO2 reduction, and energy conservation, to coordinate and drive sustainability initiatives in manufacturing.

Develop a sustainability master plan for the project to meet the project goal.

Identify emerging technologies and sustainable utilities alongside cross-functional stakeholders

Assess scope to determine their environmental / sustainability needs and provide necessary support, including project justification, during conceptual design of environmental elements.

Ensure that all projects are designed for the long term and result in a positive impact on the company's ROIC.

Ensure product and process compliance in line with organizational policies, standards, and legal requirements.

Coordinate environmental / sustainability engineering consultants’ activities by reviewing needed actions at facilities and providing required follow-up and support.

Assist facilities as needed with data accuracy/reporting to include emission inventories, waste prevention, energy efficiency, water usage, and discharge monitoring reports.

Ensure that all assets are well designed (i.e., plant layout, equipment selection, etc.) and fit the business purpose through applying new technologies, proven principles, thorough design reviews, and basic science.

Support all Value Engineering Analysis (VEA) studies.

Work within teams to develop business cases for various sustainability projects (high-level scope, equipment list, estimate, schedule, and justification)

Lead the installation of the scope while ensuring a safe work site at all times and installations that are easy to operate, clean, and maintain as well as guaranteeing after commissioning the safe, consistent manufacture/distribution of quality products.

Ensure that when working with external engineering services, contractors, suppliers, etc., the scope, deliverables, performance, and milestones are clearly detailed and agreed up front.

Ensure that the project scope is achieved within the agreed cost and timing.

Ensure that the operators, mechanics, electricians, etc. are effectively trained and that the transfer of the equipment to the client is both smooth and efficient. This includes all the supporting documentation that will be required by the client to operate and maintain the plant. e.g., operating instructions, equipment manuals, plant layouts, maintenance instructions, spare parts listing, etc.
Facilities and Utilities operations

Post construction completion, handle day-to-day operations of the utilities and facilities management to provide the best experience for employees in the premises.

Ensure proper functionality of the amenities and services in the building.

Provide support to ensure that hard Facilities Management services (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, compressed air, nitrogen) are provided to maintain a smooth operation
Requirements & Qualifications
-
Engineering Graduate with 10+ years of experience in Industrial Services and Project Management.

Should have worked on Greenfield / Brownfield Projects, preferably on utilities and facilities scope.

Ability to define the fundamental components of a project in terms of its scope, deliverables, timescales, resource requirements, and budget whilst incorporating risk and quality to provide a consolidated overview of a project

Ability to influence different stakeholders to ensure project delivery on time
