Director, Engineering

In this role, you will be instrumental in building best-in-class manufacturing operational practices in support of producing the next generation of products. Our manufacturing technologies spans across the value chain to manufacture current state of the art and next-generation products.  We’re looking for a candidate with experience in the beverage industry, who has knowledge of project management methodology, reporting and tracking performance, schedule and cash flow of the projects and can assist with technical support and leadership in beverage manufacturing systems, equipment and processes.

 

What You’ll Do for Us 

 

  • Tracking high production losses, abnormally high maintenance costs, and repetitive failures to find ways to reduce or eliminate those losses, costs, or failures. These deficiencies are prioritized to focus efforts on the most critical or risky issues.

  • Managing risk to the achievement of an organization’s strategic objectives in the areas of environmental, health and safety, asset capability, quality and production. The position will own the Region Maintenance Strategy and work with plant teams to enhance Preventive and Predictive Maintenance to manage risk and to balance maintenance costs and equipment availability.

  • Evaluation of Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) of existing and new assets.  Suggest standards and specifications to improve machine design and life cycle performance

  • Lead the development of capital plans – agreeing to programs, priorities, and timing with Plant, Region or Brand Teams.

  • Collaborate with Quality, Safety, Environmental, Purchasing, Legal, Operational Excellence, and others to insure appropriate internal checks and warm hand-offs in successful project execution.

  • Analyze or develop, communicate and execute new strategic improvement opportunities based upon business knowledge.

  • Develops manufacturing processes by studying product requirements; researching, designing, modifying, and testing manufacturing methods and equipment; conferring with equipment vendors.

  • Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.

  • Evaluate current and potential future manufacturing processes by designing and conducting research programs; applying knowledge of product design, fabrication, assembly, tooling, and materials; conferring with equipment vendors; soliciting observations from operators.

 

Qualification & Requirements 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related discipline; equivalent work experience considered.

  • 5+ years of manufacturing, engineering, and maintenance experience in advanced processing environments.

  • Proven technical expertise in processes and/or machinery utilized in the beverage industry.

  • Expertise in analyzing line performance to pinpoint operational opportunities to prioritize resource allocation.  

  • Demonstrated ability to develop or improve shop floor control, work measurement, and quality measurement processes and systems

  • Experience in developing Lean factory workflows and layouts

  • Experience with Multi-machinery manufacturing methods and materials technology

  • Understanding of Machine/Process Capability as well as the application of Statistical process control

  • Advanced skills in project management tools, methods, and applications

  • Understanding of CAPEX investment processes
