Master Planner

The Master Planner is responsible for generating the Master Plan, Monthly and Weekly Production Plan and setting the overall production priorities to meet customer demand, while maintaining finished goods inventory targets and production line efficiency goals.

He / she leads the production planning and scheduling activities to ensure continuity of supply to the bottlers. Other key activities include collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment (CPFR) with the bottling system.

This role also provides leadership in managing end-to-end supply chain process optimization—both within CPS’s internal operations and across external partners—to enhance overall supply chain productivity.

Critically, the Master Planner leverages digital tools, data analytics, and advanced planning systems to drive visibility, accuracy, and agility in planning processes, enabling continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making across the supply network.

As a key member of the CPS Shanghai plant, the Master Planner sets production priorities to ensure optimal output and uninterrupted supply/fulfilment to the regions.

Key Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops the Master Plan
    • Establish the master plan and weekly production plan for the company by converting demand (forecast, customer orders, customer schedules, commercialization timeline etc.) into a feasible production plan to ensure matched sets of materials and capacities are available to meet the needs of customers in a cost-effective and production efficient manner. Ensure production plan and manufacturing schedules cover immediate and future demand.
    • Revisit and revise plans (if necessary) to incorporate changes either internally or externally driven (e.g., changes in customer priorities). Drive and communicate the plans to all functions responsible for execution using digital tools for enhanced visibility and accuracy.
    • Identify, negotiate, and drive resolution of any conflicts related to material availability, capacity, and order promise integrity, leveraging advanced planning systems for predictive insights.
    • Maintain production stability, optimum inventory levels, and resource utilization per business rules while meeting customer needs. Use data analytics to optimize these processes continuously.
    • Support supply point optimization initiatives for the region with a focus on digital integration.
  • Collaborative Planning, Forecast, and Replenishment
    • Lead collaborative planning, forecasting, and replenishment activities with the bottling system, including production scheduling and finished goods inventory management.
    • Optimize inventory planning strategy in CPS based on awareness of bottler inventory and production strategy; help build end-to-end transparency of inventory using digital platforms. Provide reasonable suggestions for optimizing bottler inventory build-up.
    • Ensure operation leads Collaborative Planning, Forecasting, and Replenishment (CPFR) routines are periodically held with all bottling operations, supported by advanced analytics and digital collaboration tools.
  • Lead in the Monthly S & OP Review
    • Lead the monthly S&OP review, highlighting critical business issues and bottlenecks that may potentially impact the achievement of the Master Schedule and overall plant objectives. Examples include impacts on customer satisfaction and product availability, production capacities, bottleneck areas, and inventory levels. Utilize digital dashboards for real-time monitoring and decision-making.
  • Maintenance of Planning System / Tools / Processes
    • Ownership of MRP II/IBP measures, ensuring their alignment with digital transformation goals.
    • Documentation of planning/scheduling guidelines and processes, incorporating best practices in digital tool usage.
    • Support analysis, development, and implementation of new planning systems/processes as required, focusing on automation and AI-driven solutions.
    • Conduct and support ad hoc business analysis and Management Reviews with an emphasis on leveraging digital technologies.
    • Drive and replicate supply chain operational excellence and best practices through digital innovation.
  • Support Business Planning
    • Generate the annual production budget and support long-range planning activities, integrating digital strategies for more accurate predictions and agile responses.
    • Lead internal continuous process improvement by identifying key opportunities to enhance communication efficiency and create an agile supply chain, powered by digital solutions for better collaboration and responsiveness.

Related Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in supply chain management within a multinational organization; preference given to candidates with a manufacturing background.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop robust and agile production plans that align with company objectives, business rules, and current operational constraints—leveraging digital planning tools and data-driven insights to enhance accuracy and responsiveness.
  • Strong informal leadership skills with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams in a complex, matrixed environment.
  • Good working knowledge of SAP MM and PP modules; hands-on experience using these systems to drive planning efficiency and execution excellence.
  • Experience in using digital technologies—including data analytics, visualization tools (e.g., Power BI), and automation—to continuously optimize supply chain planning processes and support decision-making.

Educational Requirements:

  • University Degree in Bachelor’s degree or higher in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics, Computer Science and Technology, or a related field.
  • Supply Chain post-graduate studies or APICS certification preferred
  • ERP knowledge and SAP experience is required.
  • Food/ beverage processing or pharmaceutical manufacturing SC experience.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience is required.
  • Power BI/Python/Excel VBA would be considered as an advantage

Languages:

-Verbal and written Chinese fluency is required

– Good command of English
