Manager, Category Insight – Sports & Water

The role leads the Sports & Water category consumer and market analysis to identify growth opportunities that inform brand strategy development. It develops well‑structured consumer research and analysis plans, delivering key insights and implications to enable consumer‑centric decision‑making for successful initiative development. The position supports brand and category growth by increasing consumer desirability and driving impact on consumer‑based metrics through actionable consumer insights. It works closely with category and brand managers, demonstrating insight and thought leadership as the subject matter expert in category consumer insights.

What You’ll Do for Us

  • Lead properly designed research & analysis projects and deliver actionable implications, collaborating with research partners
  • Identify category growth opportunities to deliver implications for brand strategy development
  • Define the annual consumer understanding project scope and learning plans, along with the requirements of the development stages
  • Identify winning consumer insights/ implications, and facilitate for a consumer-centric marketing decision making in brand initiative/ innovation development
  • Work in international and remote environments across team & function (be more open, flexible and proactive in working environment.)

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Data Science, Statistics, Econometrics or related field is required or preferred
  • More than 4-5 years career with minimum 2-3 years of consumer insight/ marketing research experience in both qualitative and quantitative approaches, the experience in FMCG industries is preferred.  
  • Intellectual curiosity, Strategic Thinking, Problem solving
  • Project management skill to involving internal counterparts and external research agency partners to navigate consumer-centric decision making
  • Language: Japanese/English (Business professional)
