Senior Manager, Industry Insights

Position Overview: Focus, Scope, & Impact:  

We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Industry Insight Senior Manager to lead macro and industry insights for EME OU with an externally driven mindset. In this key role, you will identify emerging trends, quantify market outlooks, and provide a comprehensive understanding of industry drivers and inhibitors while also analyzing how these factors impact volume and share performance. Macro & Industry Insights  

  • Drive clarity on macroeconomic and industry trends across core markets and categories, leveraging data and insights to identify opportunities and risks that impact business performance. 

  • Develop a detailed understanding of country, category, and channel-level industry trends, using data-driven analysis to uncover local dynamics and inform broader industry insights for strategic decision-making. 

  • Partner with external experts, research agencies, and data providers to ensure access to cutting-edge insights and methodologies on market dynamics. 

Industry Planning 

  • Provide actionable inputs on industry trends and outlook to inform strategic planning processes, including Long-Range Plan (LRP) and Annual Business Plan (ABP) & Quarterly (QRR) forums. 

  • Lead macro and industry forecasting to support agile volume planning, leveraging advanced analytics to provide robust volume and value share outlooks while refining methodologies and tools to meet evolving business needs. 

Scenario Planning & Capability 

  • Drive scenario planning and risk assessments based on macro-outlooks and industry evolution, collaborating closely with finance to support dynamic and adaptive planning across both short- and long-term horizons 

 

  • Explore and integrate advanced analytics tools, AI, and machine learning techniques to enhance forecasting, scenario planning, and trend tracking. 

 

  • Support the development of competitive strategy and broader strategic intelligence team capabilities as part of building an "outside-in" external market expertise, ensuring the business stays ahead of industry and competitive dynamics. 

 

 

 

Key Requirements  

  • Analytical Proficiency: Strong capability in data analysis and statistical modeling, with experience using advanced analytical tools and software including Nielsen, HHP, Beach and Kantar 

  • Data-Driven Storytelling: Read and interpret multiple sources of data and insights to construct a compelling business narrative that highlights performance and drives actionable strategies. 

  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, capable of presenting complex information clearly and persuasively to senior leadership and stakeholders. 

  • Stakeholder Management: Identify, influence, align, and engage key stakeholders across functions to ensure successful collaboration and outcomes. 

  • Genuine Curiosity: Good understanding of macroeconomic, geopolitical, and industry trends, with the ability to seamlessly connect external developments to internal business strategy 

Experience 

  • +5 years of experience across business development roles, such as Strategy, Marketing, Business Planning, RGM, Insights, and/or Finance.  

  • Essential experience: Data & Analytics and related areas 

  • Preferred experience in FMCG or Management Consultancy (Retail/FMCG facing) 

Travel requirements: 

  • Up to 5-10% of travel required
