Director, Communications Operations

This role is part of Enterprise Services, a vital pillar of our networked organization dedicated to providing scalable solutions across the business. As a member of the Communications Operations team, you will play an integral role in driving end-to-end transformation through ;streamlined process and state-of-the-art tools. By supporting Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS), Executive Leadership (ELT), and Operating Unit (OU) communication teams, the Communications Operation team enables efficient execution of strategies while enhancing the Company’s Corporate Reputation on a global scale.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a Director, Communications Operations, who will play a pivotal role in modernizing and enhancing the strategic and day-to-day operations of the Global PACS communication teams. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of Communications Operations, this role is centered on driving innovation and enhancing ways of working within a matrixed organization. The ideal candidate will have expertise in designing and implementing governance frameworks, orchestrating scalable solutions, and collaborating seamlessly across various teams and stakeholders. This role demands a strategic thinker who can enable the efficient execution of complex processes and structures while fostering alignment and delivering impactful results.
The Director will work closely with other service teams, including Data Analytics, Crisis Communications, and Creative Services, to align cross-functional priorities and ensure cohesion in execution. A significant part of this position involves leading through influence across the PACS network, leveraging digital platforms to optimize processes, and fostering operational excellence without direct oversight of a team.
Key skills and requirements
1. Project Management:
- Lead and support the Global Communications Integrated Planning process to ensure alignment with strategic objectives across the Enterprise.
- Own and manage the Global Communications Quarterly Priority Planning process, ensuring projects are executed efficiently and meeting deadlines.
2. Strategic Thinking:
- Develop and execute Global Charter campaigns (communication campaigns that scale) to streamline operations and enhance network efficiency.
- Plan, design, and evolve end-to-end process designs that support PACS communications, ensuring strategic direction and transparency across the network.
3. Stakeholder Management:
- Coordinate communication flows across the network to optimize cross-collaboration and communications effectiveness between teams.
- Build relationships and maintain engagement with key stakeholders to align communications strategies with their needs and expectations.
4. Excellent Communication Skills:
- Own and manage a Community of Practice to encourage best practice sharing across the Global Communications community.
- Proficient in verbal and written communication to convey messages effectively and foster strong collaboration across cross-functional teams.
5. Technology Proficiency:
- Work closely with the managed service agency to plan, design, evolve, and digitize end-to-end user journeys using the Airtable platform to simplify and scale processes.
6. Creative and Innovative Thinking:
- Develop fresh ideas and approaches to enhance the effectiveness and engagement of communications campaigns and strategies.
7. Leadership and Teamwork:
- Demonstrated ability to collaboratively lead cross-functional teams to execute complex processes and structures.
- Encourage best practices across the Global Communications community, driving shared success.
8. Adaptability and Flexibility:
- Comfort navigating change and managing dynamic priorities in a fast-paced environment, adjusting strategies as needed to align with new challenges or opportunities.
9. Problem-Solving:
- Use strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify and address issues, develop scalable solutions, and make impactful decisions under pressure.
10. Cultural Sensitivity:
- Understand and respect diverse cultures and market dynamics to effectively collaborate across global teams and deliver communications that resonate worldwide.
11. Tracking and Governance:
- Oversee the tracking and management of governance frameworks and utilization metrics to ensure alignment with priorities, drive accountability, and optimize operational efficiency.
12. Attention to Detail:
- Ensure accuracy, quality, and consistency in communications deliverables and processes to maintain high standards of excellence.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree and or relevant work experience
- 7-10 years of relevant work experience is preferred.
- Strong background in strategic planning, design thinking, and agile methodologies.
- Proven experience in developing and operationalizing both strategic and executional plans, with a blend of short-term and long-term perspectives.
- Excellent project management skills with familiarity in project management software
- Passion for influencing the adoption of new transformational solutions, approaches, and services.

Pay Range:
$162,800 – $186,900
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
