Transport and Logistics Planner

KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Daily load planning & execution of freight orders for International and Domestic transportation.
  • Utilizing TMS systems, Troubleshooting TMS System, orders.
  • Proactive identification and resolution of service issues
  • Monitor and schedule Imports with clearing agents and Material Management team to meet planning requirements.
  • Coordination and proactive communication of load status changes with internal/external stakeholders (Plants, Warehouses, 3PL's, Material Management, Customer Service, etc.)
  • Lead/Participate in weekly / monthly Operational Routines
  • Organize internal transfers of stock between domestic Warehouses and Plants.
  • Assisting the warehouse team in the preparation of the inbound and outbound warehouse schedules.
  • Undertaking freight settlement activities to ensure carrier invoices are paid within the agreed payment terms.
  • Preparing documents for transportation and export purposes.
  • Ensuring freight claims are reported to insurers in accordance with our global transit policy, including all relevant documentation relating to the reported loss.  
  • Maintaining records in accordance with documentation retention rules.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.
  • A minimum of 1 – 2 years in a transportation/shipping or customer-facing role.
  • Candidate should have a good knowledge of Imports/Export procedures, international customs requirements, and regulations.
  • Must have a strong sense of urgency and be empowered to make timely and informed decisions.
  • Experienced in a Transport Management System is preferred.
  • Demonstrate the ability to excel and contribute in a fast paced and changing work environment with accuracy.
  • Proven analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal daily supervision.
  • Fluent written and spoken English and strong communication skills required.  
  • 5% – 10% local and regional travel.
