Safety Lead
Position Overview
This position, reporting to the CPS Indonesia EOSH Manager, supports the QSE Department in driving plant safety strategies and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company standards. It monitors the implementation of the integrated management system in line with ISO 45001 and local laws. The role also involves engaging internal and external stakeholders to strengthen the safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
1. Carry out hazard identification and risk assessment, ensuring effective mitigation plans are implemented.
2. Conduct regular regulation reviews to ensure continuous compliance with safety and occupational health regulations.
3. Create an annual safety program and propose its budget to comply with local regulations and company standards, and to improve the safety culture.
4. Conduct comprehensive site safety inspections, investigate accidents, and implement measures to prevent recurrence.
5. Deliver effective Safety & Health training for employees, visitors, and contractors.
6. Manage PPE, the safety reporting system, Job Safety Analysis, and Permit to Work processes; also supervise contractor activities.
7. Conduct emergency drills in collaboration with the Emergency Response Team and other related departments.
8. Monitor and track the plant's permits and licenses related to safety regulations, ensuring their validity.
9. Monitor safety performance indicators to achieve annual targets.
10. Lead safety committee meetings to gather feedback on safety improvements.
11. Liaise and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure effective safety implementation and regulatory compliance.
12. Manage all safety-related reports.
13. Arrange and deliver necessary safety training.
14. Propose and execute occupational health program.
15. Becoming key personnel for internal and external safety related audit.
16. Propose ideas for future improvement that may be relevant and applicable with local practice.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Safety, Engineering (Chemical, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Electrical), or related field.
Related Work Experience
Minimum 5 years experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.
Skills and Requirements
1. Proactive, detail-oriented, and results-focused, with a willingness to learn and take initiative.
2. Good communication and interpersonal skills; able to work with various functions across the organization.
3. Team-oriented with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Comfortable using English for basic verbal and written communication.
5. Minimum 5 years of experience in a safety role within a manufacturing environment.
6. Familiar with ISO Integrated Management Systems, especially ISO 45001.
7. Strong understanding of hazards, risks, and mitigation in manufacturing.
8. Advanced knowledge of high-risk tasks: working at height, hot work, confined space, energized equipment, critical lifting, etc.
9. Familiar with industrial hygiene and occupational health.
10. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
11. Experience in leading safety improvement initiatives.
12. Familiarity with Behavior-Based Safety (BBS) programs.
13. Able to deliver safety presentations or training sessions.
