Liquid Filling Operator
A. JOB SUMMARY: Describe the Purpose of your Job. (What and how do you do and why do you do it?)
To perform all Liquid Manufacturing and Filling functions inclusive of related activities for all beverage bases and concentrate manufactured at Coca-Cola eSwatini. To ensure that all duties are performed in accordance with Company, quality, Food Safety, Safety & Environment standards and all applicable external requirements
B. KEY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Be able to set up and operate (or use) correctly the mixing tanks, pumps, pipework, fillers, closure applicators, capper, carton sealer, label applicators, density meter, scales and other such equipment used in the department.
- Be capable of effectively carrying out all delicate mixing processes – sprite and tizers manufacture, delicate small batch quantity manufacture, emulsion manufacture in both mains and small batch, concentrate manufacture (coke) etc.
- Where trained be able to sanitize effectively all Mixing tanks, Pumps and Filling lines using the company guided and quality-controlled CIP protocol in full understanding of the process
- Be capable of filling in the various Filling packages ensuring target weight is maintained within tolerance plus ensuring all pre-during and post filling mandatory checks are done
- Use, Participate and where applicable lead in Liquids processes: automation, standardization, improvement and optimization of activities;
- Ensures effective use of OEE/SPC to drive improvements.
- Drive the manufacturing digitization agenda
- Be capable of completing production reports accurately & timely as per production checklists defined intervals as per company standards.
- Be capable of carrying out the daily cleaning and sanitation programs effectively and adhering to all GMP requirements and to maintain strict security of all mixing rooms, filling lines and sealing equipment. To ensure appropriate use of PPE and also ensure to work in a good quality and safe environment.

- To be able to work with all liquid teams, execute flexibility with both mixing and filling, collaborate with team for maximum efficiencies ensuring good team engagement
- Understand and Respect reporting hierarchy and escalation protocols (Team lead and Manager)
Environmental Management, Occupational Health & Safety, and Food Safety & Quality
- Cooperate and follow instructions given by the employer (CCS Leadership Team) , Commissioner of Labour, Inspector or any other person lawfully authorized to give such instructions in keeping the working conditions safe and without risk to health and injury in the field of that activity.
- Must ensure compliance to Food safety standards by behaving in a manner that will protect food from contamination; including timely reporting of incidents that may compromise them.
- Use, any means, appliance, equipment or other safety devise for securing safety and health as provided by the employer (CCS Leadership Team) for use and protection of the employee or property in any process an per the instructions given by the employer or any person lawfully authorized to do so.
- Report to the employer (CCS Leadership Team) any situation as soon as it becomes unsafe or unhealthy, or where an accident occurs report such accident to the employer or supervisor
- Understand Company requirements (KORE) and ensure compliance to such
- Ensure adherence to Environmental management, occupational health and safety, Food safety and quality procedures, work instructions, and work aids and not compromise the environment, occupational health and safety, food safety and quality.
Report all environmental, occupational health and safety, food safety and quality related incidents to their immediate supervisor without delay.
C. FINANCIAL/ JOB SCOPE: Identify quantitative factors for your job, such as volume, annual budget, customer contacts (e.g., # of bottlers, customers, etc.), and other major indicators of the scope and complexity of your job.
Work diligence as Liquid’s operator during sanitation determines whether the whole team meets minimal usage variance, productivity target and low PDR (avoiding water contamination).
Control of SDR and PDR.
Number of batches manufactured
Chaining of batches in similar categories to avoid sanitation as such saving water
D. ORGANIZATION IMPACT/ INFLUENCE: Indicate the nature and level of your contacts within and outside the Company, as well as the nature and purpose of the interaction.
Internal:
- QSE – PQ and LAB with regards to SMI’s for normal and rework POs, Density approvals, process monitoring, particle size analysis, support Food safety & hygiene initiatives
- QSE – Safety & environment in relation to safety routines, near misses, BBS compliance
- Materials with regards to packaging and finished product receipt.
- Warehouse – Material both Ingredients and Packaging staging – Inventory management
Maintenance with regard to repair, maintenance and calibration of all equipment used in the department.
E. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: List the number, if any, and type (full-time, part-time, contract) of your direct reports; indicate the extent of your involvement in supervision including hiring, conducting performance reviews, and terminations as well as team leadership, coordination of work assignments and other indirect supervision. No direct reports to this role, will be part of a team of Liquids operators Mixing and Filling team, with a team leader.

- Be familiar with product characteristics like appearance, odor and density.
- Be capable of doing liquids related technical tasks e.g Density evaluation, Label reconciliation, Fraction management, WIP counts etc
- Must be mathematically inclined for purposes of BOM interpretation and confirmation, process verification and component usage calculation where necessary.
- Must be able to influence the plan schedule so as to advise team-leader & Finite scheduer on ways of being more effective on cutting off over-time (cost saving).
- Must be highly flexible to change and adopt the most productive approach when plans change or other conditions change, alternate between mixing and filling smoothly and effectively
- Must have team player capabilities to be able to collaborate with team
Must be good in communication in order to facilitate information transfer as he is the first to know of developments in the production process

- Ensure all decisions to implement a change are communicated to team lead and manager before execution of change
- Ensure all stoppages and breakdowns or delays are reported to manager as per process within 15min
- Ensure all critical control points in Liquids are maintained with records
- Ensure an official authorization has been granted in cases of deviations before proceeding with the process in all cases.
Ensure spillages are kept at minimal levels (MUVs).

- climb steps, lift filled containers where needed in manual filling and palletizing of the manual fills,
- Drive a forklift and pick up various kind of material as required
- Working extended hours where agreed on individually & teams respectively and approved per business need as stipulated by hours of work procedure and overtime legislations
