Production Lead, 1st Shift (Ontario California)

The Production Lead role is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the syrup making process; working in conjunction with the shift supervisor to meet all Safety, Quality and Production metrics.  Production Lead will be responsible for a team ranging from 20 to 25 associates, pre-shift meetings, daily direction setting and adherence to quality checks. The Production Lead needs to be able to effectively communicate and lead people, look for and suggest improvement opportunities.  Also, provide facts, policies and practices related to job area to associates and across shifts.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

High School diploma or GED equivalent required

Typically requires Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

2 – 4 years’ experience in manufacturing required

Standing and walking for continuous periods

DESIRED SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

Manufacturing experience or knowledge desired.

Computer Literate – MS Office, SAP

Manufacturing Equipment understanding and basic troubleshooting

Organization and effective communication skills.

Strong problem-solving skills

Work efficiently under stressful situations

Ability to make sound decisions with limited information

Understanding of Lean Manufacturing practices and tools

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

Three (3) years of production control experience, preferably in food and beverage industry in a manufacturing environment; or five (5) years of satisfactory work experience in a fast paced, high volume work environment as a receiving coordinator, material ordering, operations leader, line leader, or an equivalent combination of training and experience

Competent in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point)

Knowledge in Standard Operating Procedures for equipment operations including safety rules and regulations.

Mathematic skills including decimal, fractions, addition, subtraction, division, multiplication, averaging, standard deviation, percentage, formulas and basic statistical analysis

Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of problems with processes, equipment and facilities

Complying with all Company policies and procedures. Following all Company safety rules and regulations, recognizing hazards and taking appropriate corrective action.  

Maintaining a clean and orderly work area.

Understanding and following written and oral instructions as well as communicating clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Ability to participate and support cross functional teams of peers and other resources for continuous improvement and/or corrective action.

Must score satisfactory on pre-employment testing if applicable.

Education: High School diploma or equivalent, supplemented by hands-on or vocational school training,

Experience: At least 3 years

Pay Range:
$80,000 – $85,500

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
