Associate, Innovation Development

BODYARMOR is looking for a Product Development Associate to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have experience in both Product Development and Project Management. The Product Development Associate will work on new product innovation development, quality initiatives, and value engineering. They will partner closely with the marketing team, technical and quality teams, and other key stakeholders such as procurement, planning, other technical functions and the copackers to deliver safe, quality innovations.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Develop and launch safe, quality BODYARMOR products in conjunction with Innovation team
- Designs product development procedures for a successful project execution. Delivers new product launches and productivity initiatives, from desk/benchtop level up to commercial production. Recommends product solutions based on technical risk, feasibility, and formula costs.
- Work with the technical teams (QA, Regulatory, SC) to execute new launches, including running trials and commercial startups for Innovation, renovation, and productivity initiatives at copacker facilities
- Responsible for developing and managing sets of specifications: Ingredient, Formula, Processing and Manufacturing Instructions (MIs), shelf-life recommendations for new launches and existing products. Coordinates with copacker network to deploy any changes to specifications
- Manages shelf life studies, detailing actionable next steps for BA products
- Work with regulatory teams to validate all product claims
- Will participate in other projects as needed
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Engineering, or relevant technical discipline required
- 2-3 years of Food Industry experience in Innovation and product development required; Familiarity with nutrition science desired
- Product Development experience required
- Project Management experience required
- Quality and Food Safety knowledge and experience preferred
- Must be able to travel independently both within the US as well as internationally
- Skilled in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel
- Outstanding organizational skills; Ability to think critically and problem solve
- 20% Travel required by car or plane nationwide
Pay Range:
$96,500 – $114,600
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
Annual Incentive Reference Value Percentage:
7.5
Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
