Maintenance Technician II (ONTARIO CALIFORNIA, USA)

As a Maintenance Technician you will be tasked to provide competent and effective maintenance support to our plant operations.

Position-Related Duties and Key Job Responsibilities

  • Install, repair, and service machinery and equipment support systems. Perform minor electrical repairs and installations.
  • Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; run tests, isolate problems, remove/replace failed components.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance systems for all production equipment and/or batching/processing equipment.
  • Execute predictive and preventative maintenance practices for all production equipment.
  • Perform systematic preventative maintenance, including electrical or mechanical adjustments, inspections and minor repairs.
  • Understanding of VFD’s, Motors, Electrical Schematics, Troubleshooting with a multimeter.
  • In a timely manner, identify and correct potential equipment problems.
  • Maintain accurate records and logs as required.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the execution of the work schedule. Ensures the area is maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.
  • Work directly with cross-departmental personnel and management to problem-solve to ensure maximum production efficiencies.
  • Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies.
  • Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment including immediately correcting or reporting safety issues to your supervisor.
  • Read, understand and comply with standard operating procedures and Safety Data Sheets.
  • Capture description and procedures used for troubleshooting and repairs performed in CMMS.
  • Obtains, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, from files or other sources. Makes any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., necessary.
  • Ensures the safety needs are given a top priority in operations support and work execution. Some examples are Arc Flash/Shock Hazard safety, confined space entry, LOTO, Line Break Permit, hazardous materials, hand tool safe use, etc.
  • Enforces plant polices in the execution of their assigned duties. Report violations of plant polices to the Management.
  • Attends meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Recommends equipment to be included in preventive maintenance programs.
  • Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.

Education and Qualifications

  • Associates or Technical Degree (preferred)
  • Related Work Experience – 3+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance
  • Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance experience
  • Previous experience in a high-speed industrial work environment

Functional/Technical Skills

  • Achieve a passing score on the Maintenance Technician test.
  • Must supply own tools per the Maintenance required tool list.
  • Able to read one-line diagrams, P&ID, blueprints and schematics.
  • Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc. and ability to work in extreme temperatures.
  • Ability to visually identify defective parts. detect defective parts, machine failures, and changes in speed.
  • Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work flexible shift schedules as determined by business need.
  • Must be able to use a computer and associated software programs.
  • Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Service and Cost objectives.
