Maintenance Technician II (ONTARIO CALIFORNIA, USA)

As a Maintenance Technician you will be tasked to provide competent and effective maintenance support to our plant operations.
Position-Related Duties and Key Job Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and service machinery and equipment support systems. Perform minor electrical repairs and installations.
- Identify and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues; run tests, isolate problems, remove/replace failed components.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance systems for all production equipment and/or batching/processing equipment.
- Execute predictive and preventative maintenance practices for all production equipment.
- Perform systematic preventative maintenance, including electrical or mechanical adjustments, inspections and minor repairs.
- Understanding of VFD’s, Motors, Electrical Schematics, Troubleshooting with a multimeter.
- In a timely manner, identify and correct potential equipment problems.
- Maintain accurate records and logs as required.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) in the execution of the work schedule. Ensures the area is maintained in a clean, safe, and orderly fashion.
- Work directly with cross-departmental personnel and management to problem-solve to ensure maximum production efficiencies.
- Comply with all standard safety practices, safety rules, and all Company rules and policies.
- Maintain proper safety conditions of equipment including immediately correcting or reporting safety issues to your supervisor.
- Read, understand and comply with standard operating procedures and Safety Data Sheets.
- Capture description and procedures used for troubleshooting and repairs performed in CMMS.
- Obtains, drawings, instructional manuals and special procedures, as needed, from files or other sources. Makes any additional sketches, diagrams, etc., necessary.
- Ensures the safety needs are given a top priority in operations support and work execution. Some examples are Arc Flash/Shock Hazard safety, confined space entry, LOTO, Line Break Permit, hazardous materials, hand tool safe use, etc.
- Enforces plant polices in the execution of their assigned duties. Report violations of plant polices to the Management.
- Attends meetings and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Recommends equipment to be included in preventive maintenance programs.
- Performs other tasks and special assignments as requested by management.
Education and Qualifications
- Associates or Technical Degree (preferred)
- Related Work Experience – 3+ years’ experience in industrial manufacturing maintenance
- Prior diagnostic, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance experience
- Previous experience in a high-speed industrial work environment
Functional/Technical Skills
- Achieve a passing score on the Maintenance Technician test.
- Must supply own tools per the Maintenance required tool list.
- Able to read one-line diagrams, P&ID, blueprints and schematics.
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work on multiple levels, such as catwalks, ladders, etc. and ability to work in extreme temperatures.
- Ability to visually identify defective parts. detect defective parts, machine failures, and changes in speed.
- Must have strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work efficiently under stressful situations.
- Must be able to work flexible shift schedules as determined by business need.
- Must be able to use a computer and associated software programs.
- Perform all tasks in a safe manner to ensure achievement of Quality, Service and Cost objectives.
