WASM
Position Overview
The objective of this role is to provide business and technical support for computerised business systems across sites in CPS utilising SAP and the Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) including the DAI Warehouse Management System (WMS) as well as Outbound Reporting.
Responsibilities
- Business requirements analysis, specification and implementation, including testing of approved changes to the business systems.
- Development of business reports/analysis for both standard and ad hoc business requirements.
- Providing day to day business application support to ensure the plants service level to both internal and external customers is achieved.
- Guidance to both business and operational management as to “best practice”, balancing system process and procedures including Lean Manufacturing philosophy.
- Perform detailed, technical breakdown analysis of losses / inefficiencies in your work stream, and ensure that quantitative, automated data is readily available to stakeholders in a timely manner.

- Ability to communicate effectively across cultures and geographic boundaries
Analysis
- Develops own approaches to problem solving due to the uniqueness of the process. Heavily dependent on database analysis to troubleshoot issues / opportunities and feedback suggestions to Management teams. Supports data analysis for other sites.
Judgement & Decision Making
- Supports WMS / ASRS and its criticality to the Plant’s output. Analyses all requests for changes and takes into account impact to overall system then feeds back to Management.
Innovation
- The position is responsible for the generation of processes and development involving WMS integration with SAP to support business volumes. The role involves working with both Software and Hardware vendors to develop solutions supporting both internal and external customers.
Functional Competencies
- Broad based business process knowledge and understanding of Production and Warehouse functions gained in manufacturing or distribution organisation.
- Experience in the key logistics modules of SAP (IM, WM, MM, SD, PP and QM) ideally gained through implementation and post implementation support or extensive use of SAP.
- Project management skills in the implementation of systems based solutions.
- Problem solving skills.
- Experience of software testing techniques.
- Good working knowledge of the MS Office suite, particularly Excel and Access.
- Operational experience with Warehouse Automation systems (including automated cranes/conveyors and Handheld applications) would be an advantage.
Related experience & requirements
- At least 5 years’ experience in business systems or logistic operations in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- A third level qualification to Degree level in an Information Communications Technology/Systems discipline or equivalent.
Travel Requirements
- Travel Requirements contingent on profile of work being undertaken from year to year typically travel is <5% of time.
