Blow Mold operator nights

As a Blow Mold Operator, you will be responsible for efficient operation, trouble shooting, set up, maintenance of production equipment I n the blow molding area including but not limited to:  Tipper, Preform Conveyors, Orienter, Oven, Blow Molder and Airveyor, in accordance with standard operating procedures. 

Job Description – Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Understand the blow molding “Sequence of Operation. 

  • Operate all the equipment in the blow mold area. 

  • Perform all CIP and housekeeping duties. 

  • Perform all quality check and PM and maintenance activities. 

  • Safely operate a forklift to load Tipper, retrieve chemicals, and move materials. 

  • Proficiency in understanding, monitoring and acknowledging machine malfunction alarms and ability to efficiently and effectively manage solutions. 

  • Ability to access machine reports, alarm log and system monitoring pagers from machine control panels. 

  • Properly set up machine for different packages, bottle types, resins, lines and suppliers 

  • Assist maintenance technicians in completion of corrective and preventative actions. 

  • Maintain accurate records and logs as required. 

  • Work directly with cross-departmental personnel and management to problem-solve to ensure maximum production efficiencies. 

  • Assist with audits and overhauls of all equipment. 

  • Key person for establishing new processes and writing of SOP, SPL and other documents 

  • Comply with all standard safety rules, practices and policies. 

  • Assist with setting up new bottles, packages, vendors, resins, lines, etc. 

  • Primary trainer for new employees 

  • Critical communication hub between Blow Mold Techs, between shifts, management and other departments. 

  • Work very closely with Blow Mold Manager to determine daily and long-term goals and priorities that need to be completed. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS 

  • High School diploma or GED  

  • 2-4 years’ experience in manufacturing and blow molding. 

  • Forklift and Hi-Lift certified or ability to become certified in a reasonable time frame. 

  • Read, write and comprehend English. 

  • Meet all basic plant and employment criteria, to include good attendance. 

  • Ability to lift, push/pull up to 50 pounds. 

  • Standing and walking for continuous periods, including 8/10/12 hour shift or required necessary hours. 

  • Ability to work flexible shifts to meet production demands, to include working some time on weekends. 

  • Ability to work in team environment. 

JOB LOCATION AND WORK CONDITIONS 

  • Work is performed in high-speed, manufacturing and warehouse environment 

  • Work requires exposure to all temperature changes, high noise levels, working around moving equipment, tanks, heights, wet conditions, fumes, vibrations, dust, etc 

  • Working hours must be flexible with the ability to work all shifts and extended hours as needed 

EQUIPMENT 

  • Personal protective equipment to include but not limited to steel toed shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection and uniform requirements. 

  • Hoist, hand cart, hand tools, measuring instruments, equipment operations manuals. 

  • Cleaning equipment and chemicals 

ADDITIONAL ASKS 

  • Participate in Continuous Improvement teams. 

  • Travel to Vendor and other Company Locations 

  • Delivering Presentations 

  • Attend required meetings. 

  • Operate general office equipment, i.e. fax, copier, and supplies. 

Pay Range:
$47,575 – $64,366

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
