Senior Manager, Shopper Marketing

What You’ll Do for Us:

The Shopper Experience Senior Manager will be an integral part of the Experience & Design team within the Africa OU IMX Marketing team.

The focus will be on ensuring an exceptional in-store presence for our brands and products, both physically and digitally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create innovative and disruptive shopper experiences for brands, translating them into appealing shopper programs and delivering them to markets through an easy-to-navigate Shopper XP Toolkit.
  • Develop strategies for designing marketing around the end-to-end consumer and shopper journey to increase conversion rates, focusing on experience orchestration and consistency.
  • Design and implement comprehensive path-to-purchase strategies that consider consumer and shopper journeys, connect with brand rituals, and emphasize weekly+ conversion.
  • Develop next-generation shopper engagement strategies using both digital and physical touchpoints to deliver a seamless pre-purchase, during-purchase, and post-purchase experience.
  • Integrate digital marketing concepts into shopper marketing campaigns (e.g., voice technology, QR codes, beacons, CRM, digital coupons, etc.).

Qualifications & Requirements:

Core Competencies:

  • In-depth knowledge of customer and shopper engagement.
  • Proven ability to develop winning shopper marketing programs integrated with Creative Brand Strategy.
  • Collaborative skills to work closely with Creative Strategy/Content teams while independently developing impactful shopper marketing programs.
  • Strong capability in driving digital shopper marketing initiatives and crafting shopper-relevant plans to drive sales.
  • Strategic thinking beyond POS and in-store activation, focusing on a phygital (physical & digital) Consumer-to-Shopper End-to-End path to purchase.

Experience:

  • Previous managerial experience in Commercial, Trade, or Shopper Marketing projects, with a solid understanding of sell-in opportunities and timelines.
  • Significant marketing, commercial, and leadership experience (8+ years).
  • Direct experience with consumer connections, and communication planning for both leading and smaller brands.
  • Proven track record of working in cross-functional & cross-geographical teams.
  • Experience in FMCG is beneficial.

Core Skill Set:

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and negotiation skills with multiple stakeholders.
  • Capable of leading integrated brand experiences across multiple touchpoints, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Proficient in working within cross-functional teams.
  • Team management and leadership capabilities.
  • Proficient in Agile ways of working.
