Senior Director, Quality & Food Safety (QFS) Governance
Job Description Summary
The Quality and Food Safety (QFS) Senior Director is responsible for fostering a quality mindset across the ASEAN and South Pacific Operating Unit (ASP OU) and bottlers, ensuring quality is integral to every role. The role leads the team of QFS Directors across the ASP OU and supports the consistent implementation of QFS programs. It drives people, processes, and systems capabilities development programs, in collaboration with Corporate QFS. The position reports to the QSE (Quality, Safety, and Environment) Senior Director for ASP OU.

What You’ll Do for us: Key Responsibilities:
Quality Leadership:
- Promote and embed a quality mindset throughout the OU.
- Lead the development and implementation of Quality and Food Safety (QFS) strategies.
- Collaborate with Technical Operations and Commercial franchise leaders to protect and enhance product quality and corporate reputation.
Capability Development:
- Develop OU capabilities in quality and food safety for new product categories and packaging.
- Work with bottling partners and other OU functions to meet quality and food safety requirements.
Innovation and Improvement:
- Support the innovation pipeline by identifying optimal processes and technologies.
- Coordinate the execution of QFS programs (e.g., Product Integrity, Sensory Program).
Collaboration and Performance:
- Collaborate with Global QFS teams to drive performance excellence and standardize tools and processes.
- Coach and mentor the OU QFS team and key bottler QSE/QFS leaders.
Strategic Oversight:
- Set objectives, develop priorities, and track implementation of Quality and Food Safety Management Systems.
- Conduct continual research to improve quality and reduce process variation.
Quality Assurance:
- Act as a quality expert and consultant, providing guidance on food safety requirements.
- Ensure continuity of supply through on-site audits and strategic problem-solving.
Reporting and Communication:
- Develop business-related reports to drive quality improvement across the supply chain.
- Host and present at professional or client meetings to share relevant information.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's degree in chemistry, Food Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Experience:
- 10+ years in technical areas such as R&D product development, laboratory management, quality systems, and/or engineering.
- More than 5 years of experience in quality, food safety, and occupational health and safety within the food and beverage industry
- At least 2+ years of operational experience in production or manufacturing, with knowledge of manufacturing and process controls for beverage ingredients and packaging.
- Proven success in similar roles within multi-country business units, requiring complex orchestration across multiple stakeholders.
- Previous management experience is a plus.
- Skills and Knowledge:
- Strong working knowledge of Quality Systems, Quality Assurance Principles, and Food Safety.
- Proficiency in statistics and analytical skills for decision-making that protects customers, consumers, and the brand.
- Experience with project management, continuous improvement, and Lean Six Sigma methodologies.
- Ability to protect confidential information from external sources and ensure it is not disseminated inappropriately.
- Capability to determine actions needed to satisfy customer/client requirements.
- Interpersonal Skills:
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written; additional languages are a plus.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with external parties (e.g., customers, bottlers, consumers, government agencies, vendors, suppliers) to create opportunities for the company.
- Strong relationship-building skills with peers and others to exchange feedback, solve problems, assess needs, and achieve business results.
- Understanding of customer/client/partner needs and expectations within your area of accountability.
- Additional Requirements:
- Continual research and identification of new technologies and processes to improve quality and reduce process variation.
- Ability to act as a quality expert and consultant, providing guidance on food safety requirements.
- Experience in developing business-related reports to drive quality improvement across the supply chain.
