Director, Sustainability Marketing Communications
Position Overview:
The Director of Sustainability Marketing Communication will be responsible for enhancing our corporate reputation through proactive storytelling about our sustainability initiatives, including Water, World Without Waste, Climate, Agriculture, Sugar Reduction, and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I). This role involves closely working with marketing teams to integrate sustainability elements into marketing plans and aligning these efforts with corporate sustainability communications.
Focus, Scope, & Impact:
- Evaluate corporate reputation data and local indicators to identify key communication opportunities aligned with our sustainability agenda.
- Formulate and implement communication strategies that highlight our Water Stewardship, Packaging, Climate actions, and DE&I initiatives.
- Increase consumer awareness of our packaging sustainability efforts, including collection, design, and partnerships.
- Develop compelling narratives and proactive storytelling to enhance our corporate reputation in sustainability.
- Ensure cohesive and consistent messaging across all platforms related to sustainability efforts.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to seamlessly integrate sustainability elements into marketing plans.
- Work closely with Sustainability Public Relations and Communication Manager in creating content for internal and external communication channels, including social media, the website, and press releases.
- Support the Strategy & Operations Manager in partnering with Customer & Commercial Leadership for collaborative opportunities with key customers based on their sustainability needs.
- Monitor the effectiveness of communication strategies and adjust as needed to ensure maximum impact.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and best practices in sustainability communications and incorporate them into the company's communication strategies to maintain competitiveness and relevance.
Experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations, with a focus on sustainability.
- Proven ability to create compelling narratives and proactive storytelling.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in managing social media and other digital communication channels.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in English and Japanese.
- Passion for sustainability and environmental issues.
