Director, Engineering & Maintenance

Job Objective

Identify and accelerate automation and digitization strategies and initiatives as per plant of the future roadmap for manufacturing and business operations to meet the business needs; Manage, plan, execute and control key capital and non-capital investment projects ensuring compliance with company requirements, approved budget and time line; Manages the day-to-day activities, processes, systems in Engineering department and ensures the optimum utilization of available resources to ensure reliable and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment and asset protection and preservation.

Engineering

  • Monitor and update plant's Master Plan including all required expansion capital needs to ensure proper alignment with business growth.
  • Ensure projects' business case justification, scope, design, scope, and execution comply with Company requirements and standards (e.g. Safety, Environment, Quality, Productivity, Financial) as well as all local Laws & Regulations
  • Manage the tendering, selection and contract award with different external construction, process, equipment and service consultants/providers.
  • Manage and control each assigned project/contract ensuring scope, budget, performance and time-line compliance.
  • Ensure new equipment and building improvements are properly installed, tested and commissioned to ensure design compliance and smooth hand-over.
  • Ensure adequate development of automation standards. Manage root cause determination & implement corrective actions where necessary

Maintenance Department Management

  • Lead and give direction to the Engineering Team regarding all Engineering and Maintenance activities.
  • Get directly involved when technical trouble shooting is required.
  • Ensure proper training and capability building is provided to the team members.
  • Ensure full and sustained engagement of team members.
  • Develop and control Annual Maintenance and Repairs Operational Budgets.
  • Apply Operational Excellence (Lean Manufacturing) and EXIM (Excellence in Maintenance) tools to current processes.
  • Support Integrated Management Systems development and continuous improvement (e.g. ISO 9000, ISO 14,000, OHSAS 18,000 and ISO 22000).
  • Control maintenance operational budget.

Qualification & Experience:

  • Fluency in English
  • Experience in Project Management (process and building, capital and non-capital) and Maintenance related responsibilities.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects.
  • Demonstrate experience in managing complex and strategic relationships with multiple stake holders.
  • People management and supervisory skills.
  • Good stress management skills.
  • Quality systems ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001 experience would be considered an advantage.
  • Food/ beverage processing or pharmaceutical manufacturing SC experience.
  • Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) experience is required.
  • SAP-Maintenance module basic experience would be considered as an advantage.
  • Auto-CAD advanced knowledge.
  • Advance MS Project knowledge
  • IT/OT skills and knowledge is preferred
