Director, South Pacific Satellite Lab

Drive significant innovations in the South region through strategic use of the GDI network; Lead the execution of annual business plans for the ASP South region, ensuring they align with business priorities and optimize GDI resources. Oversee daily operations of the satellite lab, and support for talent development. The role is located in Sydney.

What You’ll Do for Us:

  • Leverage local consumer insights and internal stakeholder expectations to contribute to pipeline development and ensure the impactful implementation of significant global initiatives

  • Work closely with OU for pipeline/project prioritization and development plan building;  Allocate resources effectively within the satellite lab, SH site, and global team, while promoting a culture of diversity and inclusion

  • Drive Technology innovation, product solutions and packaging that meet consumer and customer needs through product guidance insights via hands-on or  through GDI networking

  • Proactively identify technical challenges in new product introductions, developing and implementing solutions

  • Transfer the required technical knowledge to manufacturing, marketing communication and sales team driving their technical capacities and business growth

  • Manage customer innovation project, governance, and stakeholder engagement

  • Handle knowledge management by maintaining thorough records and reports, contributing to a system that captures, retains, and utilizes all generated or acquired knowledge

  • Manage day-to-day satellite lab operations and budgeting

  • Develop people pipeline, expertise and consumer knowledge development

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • 10+ years relevant experience in a multi-national company., in which 3-5+ years are leading projects

  • Master degree in Food Science, Agriculture science, chemistry engineering, etc.

  • Outstanding communication skills; Proficient in English (Written and Verbal)

  • Proven experience in product development or research with expertise in category leadership

  • Strong leadership, management, and influencing skills

  • Knowledge and understanding of business economics, value chains, risk management, and storytelling

  • Ability to operationalize solutions across cultures and organizational structures

  • Demonstrated technical competency and credibility
