Director, Process Engineer

A Director, Process Engineer is responsible for the supervision, regulation, and validation of all elements of a company's food processing operations. This involves ensuring the quality of products and food safety processing principals in operations meet local, and national, regulations, along with company policies and standards.

 

What You’ll Do for Us  

  • Support the development, management, and implementation of Quality and Food Safety (QFS) programs in the processing division.
  • Oversee and validate processing activities, new technologies, product and packaging to ensure they meet specific product quality, food safety criteria, as well as regulatory and company requirements.
  • Audit and monitor processing procedures for compliance with food safety and quality policies.
  • Collaborate with other teams such as QSE governance team, bottler operations, supply chain, copackers and Governance for Growth (G4G) partner teams to ensure seamless deployment of process control measures.
  • Evaluate, design, and implement new technologies for the production process.
  • Conduct risk assessments of the processing steps, engineering controls and enforce food safety standards.
  • Required to ensure Quality by Design / QFS due-diligence, setting up product manufacturing requirements, develop validation protocols, ensure successful scaleup and release of products & packages. 
  • Support productivity / optimization efforts in packaging.
  • Provide guidance and training to support franchisee operations product and consumer complaint investigations, non-compliances, root cause analysis, process improvements, and other organizational initiatives.
  • Review/provide technical reports, data analysis, and make recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Stay up to date with emerging food safety practices and technologies, make recommendations for continuous improvements, and ensure team is trained to the latest industry standards.

 

Qualifications & Requirements 

  • The ideal candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, food sciences, food safety, microbiology or related field, master’s degree is preferred.
  • Certifications in food safety such as HACCP, PCQI, GFSI scheme and knowledge of hygienic design audits are highly desirable.
  • Experience with, but not limited to thermal, aseptic, retort, ESL products and processing
  • Comprehensive knowledge of food safety regulations, process validation, sanitation principles, sanitary design
  • Strong leadership skills are crucial for this role.

Pay Range:
$143,000 – $173,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
