Assistant Manager – Engineering

The position is required to lead maintenance activities at manufacturing unit. Responsibilities includes planning, analyzing, and budgeting. Team of technicians will report to this position for supporting maintenance and project activities.

Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:

  • Plant Maintenance System

  • Effective planning & execution of Preventive, Opportunity & Predictive maintenance of Plant, Machinery including the entire site
  • Update the Computerised Maintenance Management System database with PM activities, Equipment data and maintenance history
  • Conduct Root cause analysis of recurring problems and initiate corrective actions
  • Monitoring & coordination of service providers / contractors for timely & effective compliance.
  • Coordinate site activities of government approved competent agencies for testing & inspection etc.
  • Plan & ensure adherence to the calibration / verification schedule of various equipment / instruments in coordination with stakeholders, including documentation
  • Maintain high standards of GMP by providing support through Maintenance & Engineering solutions
  • Support new product requirements by involving in process & capability studies.
  • Monitors & evaluate plant equipment performance and initiate improvement activities.
  • Update working instructions for changed Equipment/processes. 
  • Collate data and report Key metrics
  • Attends cross functional meetings and take responsibility for the assigned tasks
  • Projects

  • Support Planning & execution of Capital projects
  • Coordinate with vendors & procurement department for techno-commercial details.
  • Coordinate with contractor / vendor for compliance with the KORE & other legal requirements
  • Participate in periodic review & monitoring of projects through site meetings, visit to the Supplier for inspection & Coordinate during installation & commissioning activities, to ensure on time & within budget completion
  • Participate in validation of the equipment / process & Impart training to stakeholders.
  • Complete the capitalization & asset tagging process

Engineering Budget & Spares Management

  • Provide inputs for preparation of operating expenses budget
  • Estimation & planning of engineering spares, consumables & services
  • Provide technical support to Engineering stores 
  • Coordinate with vendors & technical support to Purchase department for procurement of Engineering items.
  • Inspection of incoming engineering items.
  • Optimize/Standardization of spares / consumables to reduce inventory

Environment, Occupational Safety, Health, Quality & Food Safety Management systems

  • Coordinates in setting individual and department objectives / metrics that contribute Plant Key Performance Indicators
  • Initiate Preventive actions to reduce potential risk in working area, related Environment, Occupational Safety ,Health, Quality & Food Safety

Education Requirements:

Diploma in Electrical Engineering

Related Work Experience:

minimum 10 years of experience.

  • Ability to manage multiple conflicting and time sensitive priorities
