CPS SG EHS Intern
Position Overview:
This role will offer exposure to broad spectrum of solutions & applications in the intersection of digital innovation and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management. Interns will gain hands-on experience with the process of digital transformation as it applies to elevating safety standards, optimizing health protocols, and advancing environmental sustainability compliance & improvements. Also, it will allow you to contribute positively towards fostering a safe and healthy work environment. You’ll be working hand-in-hand with experienced EHS practitioners and other personnel including digital transformation, engineering, operations, logistics and others in the organization, providing you with an ideal platform for career growth in the health, safety & sustainability industry.
Function Related Activities/Key Responsibilities:
- Promote safety & sustainability awareness through events, campaigns in conjunction with key worldwide environment / safety day celebrations.
- Streamline water & energy data collection and trend analysis and be part of efficiency improvement projects.
- Develop and implement digital dashboard to enable easy monitoring & tracking of EHS compliance in routine operation (e.g. consumables, fire safety equipment)
- Develop EHS mandatory training compliance tracking, monitoring & automated user self-help solution.
- Improve safety & sustainability platform or application that encourages company-wide participation in EHS initiatives & communications (e.g. risk assessment, safety data sheet, safety calendar)
- Provide support to projects planning & execution of AI video, digital permit-to-work, contractor management tool or equivalent solution in promoting EHS compliance.
- Participate in general & hazardous waste (segregation, recycling & disposal) & pest management routine to ensure legal & corporate GMP compliance.
- Streamline & improve paperless initiatives & assist in the day to day operations & maintenance of process water & wastewater treatment system.
- Safety & fire safety mandatory records management & tracking of compliance (e.g. risk assessment, safety data sheet, license / certificates)
- Assist in safety & sustainability routine awareness company-wide communication & education
- EHS data collection & management (e.g. water, energy, carbon, waste, recordable incidents)
- Provide assistance in other EHS related compliance / monitoring activities
Education Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate from a degree program in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Sustainability Data Science & Analytics, or a relevant field.
- Demonstrates the ability to articulate ideas clearly and engage effectively with team members. Must be self-motivated, capable of working independently and taking initiative.
Related Work Experience:
Previous internships, projects, volunteer work, or part-time work experience will be considered a significant advantage.
Functional Skills:
- Exhibits strong analytical abilities, with a knack for identifying problems and devising effective solutions.
- Possesses skills in Python, SQL, and R, with proficiency in these languages being highly desirable.
