Senior Manager, Science and Regulatory Affairs
Senior Manager, Scientific and Regulatory Affairs (SRA Innovation and Claims)
Reporting to the SRA Director Innovation and Claims, the Senior Manager role is responsible for conducting The Coca-Cola Company’s regulatory compliance-by-design efforts on ingredient, labeling and communication in the category of products under their responsibility.
The SRA Senior Manager will be a member of an extended, networked scientific & regulatory team to develop and manage the assessment of regulatory opportunities and risks, and early involvement with cross-functional teams across the Operating Unit and, if requested, the global organization (including Technical, Innovation & Stewardship, Procurement, Public Affairs, Legal, Category Marketing). We are seeking a proactive individual who can help us take SRA in Innovation to new heights. The successful candidate should have a passion for always seeking synergies and demonstrate their ability to drive efficiencies in SRA-related compliance processes.
What You’ll Do for Us
- Demonstrates an “ownership” approach, by creating clarity on regulatory opportunities and risks, and communicate outcome in a timely and clear manner across brand, SRA and GDI
- Supports planning and execution of innovation from an SRA standpoint in category of responsibility in the North America
- Manages functional claims substantiation and communication.
- Ensures business activities comply with applicable regulations and laws in the US / North America OU, and validates compliance with new rules and regulations within set timelines.
- Provides Director, VP, and as appropriate, TI&SC Leadership with updates on project status
- Manages the regulatory assessment of ingredients, products and claims through the development and execution of compliance strategies typically focused on ingredient safety, functionality and consumer friendly language.
- Monitors scientific, regulatory and consumer trends and regulatory development for category under responsibility
- Informs and advises business on future regulatory opportunity and risks, including industry issues and changes that could potentially affect the business or the company's freedom to operate.
- Develops and manages strong partnership with suppliers, customers, and bottlers, where needed with trade and industry associations and related organizations.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in food science, nutrition or equivalent required, master’s degree preferred.Bach
- Scientific & Regulatory affairs: 5+ years of experience in beverage or food industry in scientific and regulatory affairs or relevant related field in food industry, government or related industry in similar roles managing regulatory issues impacting product, ingredients, and labeling
- Demonstrate knowledge of the food regulatory and policy landscape affecting food and beverages. It also includes the ability to manage complex regulatory issues affecting products, ingredients, packages, or claims.
- Good understanding the technological need for additives, flavors and their regulatory principles defining the permissibility and limitations of use. Understanding of the key issues and the relevant regulatory and scientific proof points to support regulatory advocacy by developing positions to support innovation of ingredients, products, or labeling.
- Understanding of key trade associations and global regulatory policy landscape affecting food and beverage industry.
- Experience in international food standard setting processes and reviewing and analyzing proposed standards a plus

Pay Range:
$131,000 – $153,000
Base pay offered may vary depending on geography, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. A full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position, is offered.
Annual Incentive Reference Value Percentage:
15
Annual Incentive reference value is a market-based competitive value for your role. It falls in the middle of the range for your role, indicating performance at target.
