Maintenance Co-Ordinator

Key Responsibilities

Main Tasks (due to the importance of associate flexibility, associates may be required to carry out other duties in addition to these functions)

  • Coordinating the workflow and documentation of Planned Maintenance (PM) and Work Orders (WOs)
  • Coordination of day-to-day maintenance activities both of internal and external resources using SAP S/4 HANA ensuring activities are closed out in a timely manner.
    • Build and Evolve Database of Planned Maintenance activities, Planned Calibration activities & Spare Parts.
    • Organise physical Stores and conduct periodic counts of spares.
    • Overview of workflow through Maintenance Team.
    • Collation of Work Orders by Type to generate scopes of work. Equipment Repairs / Production Support / Process Improvements / Root Cause Analysis / Insulation / Building Maintenance / Painter / Plumber / Electrical
    • Work Levelling of PMs / Cals across Technician Team.
    • Reporting on Closure Rates
    • Escalation of Overdue Schedules
    • Liaising with Production Planners/Supervisors to agree windows for works.
  • Recognising the urgency of tasks and separating reactive and proactive requirements
  • Co-ordinate tasks and assist in the measurement of performance of maintenance works
  • Work with Engineering Director & Maintenance Lead to investigate causes of breakdown and identify and implement corrective action to avoid recurrence
  • Assisting with investigating and documenting procedural and operational deviations
  • Assisting with assuring compliance with all regulatory requirements as related to equipment maintenance functions
  • Ensure the optimum efficiency of work effectiveness
  • Arranging for repairs, such as complete overhauls, replacement of defective valves, gaskets, or bearings motors, pumps, or fabrication of new parts etc.
  • Coordinating & supervising of vendor maintenance activities
  • Assist with ensuring safe and efficient hands-on maintenance with strict adherence to SOP's, cGMP's, and quality standards
  • Assist with ensuring a safe work environment is maintained by adherence to Safety Systems, e.g. LOTO, permit to work, Method Statements / Risk Assessments
  • Liaise with suppliers to ensure spares are stocked correctly
  • Perform other Tasks, Analysis and special projects as assigned
  • Manage and maintain all relevant documentation ensuring that reporting is current, and company procedures are being adhered to.

Skills and Experience required

  • 3- 5 years on the job experience as Maintenance Planner / Co-Ordinator
  • Experience of SAP S/4 Hana essential
  • Completion of Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation apprenticeship or NCEA Diploma or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering desired.
  • On the job experience in the maintenance profession including good mechanical, electrical or instrumentation skills
  • Have a high level of attention to detail ability to both work on your own and as part of a team
  • Organised Methodical tidy and the ability to manage workload in a structured way
  • Ability to work in team environment and communicate well
  • Knowledge of engineering/process instrumentation
  • Knowledge of non-manufacturing processes, utilities and systems that support the overall running of the plant
