Senior Manager, Inbound Supply South & Central Zone LATAM

Position overview

As an Inbound Supply Senior Manager, you will manage risks related to pricing and supply of packaging materials and ingredients and communicate key commodities information to stakeholders for financial decisions. The role involves identifying long-term sourcing strategies, understanding suppliers' contingency plans, and staying updated on market trends.

Key responsibilities

  • Continuous monitoring to anticipate, evaluate, and manage plans to mitigate risks of price increase, and short and long-term supply of packaging materials and ingredients.

  • Communicate information on key commodities, materials, and ingredients to all stakeholders to make the financial decisions.

  • Identify structural-long-term availability restrictions and set innovative sourcing strategies with a competitive cost, connected to ESG agenda.

  • Understand suppliers’ contingency plans, identify most relevant risks, and influence their mitigations in partnership with global or local procurement teams.

  • Keep updated knowledge of market trends including rigorous analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements.

  • If needed, launch the authorization process of new suppliers making sure that Company Quality requirements are met.

  • Evaluate sourcing needs from supplier selection to 1st production that are required for Innovation projects.

Qualification & Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant and/or Supply Chain fields related such as engineering, supply chain management, logistics, operations management, or business administration.

  • Master's Degree: although it is not required, a master's degree in supply chain management, business administration, or a related field is good to have. MBA with focus in supply chain management can provide additional business acumen and a broader understanding of managerial decision-making.

  • 5-7 years of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Operational Leadership experience preferred.

  • This position calls for a strategic vision, excellent negotiation skills and the ability to influence suppliers and the Bottling System.

  • Strategic sourcing and category management: Strong collaboration with global entities, such as CEPG and G2G programs.

  • Strong understanding of the commodity marketplace with external contacts and awareness of innovative sourcing strategies.

  • Knowledge of the mechanics of Futures Market and Commodity Trading.

  • Individual contributor with teamwork skills to interact with suppliers, bottling organizations, Corporate procurement teams and technical functions across Latam OU.

  • Fluent Spanish, Portuguese and English communication skills, both verbal and written. Portuguese communication skills is a plus.

  • Industry Knowledge: deep understanding of the sourcing and procurement industry, trends, practices, and key players. PRODUCTION TECHNOLOGIES OF OUR MAIN INGREDIENTES: C02, SUGAR, HFCS, PET, GLASS, ALUMINUM CANS, CLOSURES AMONG OTHERS

  • Negotiation Skills: negotiate with suppliers and vendors to establish agreements that are beneficial to all parties involved is very crucial.

  • Analytical Skills: interpret complex data, perform cost analyses and supplier evaluations which heavily influence strategic decisions.

  • Leadership Skills: guide and motivate teams, drive initiatives, and manage decision-making processes effectively.

  • Risk Management Abilities: foresee potential risks, create contingency plans, and devise strategies to mitigate any adverse impact on the company's operations.

  • Communication: expressing complex ideas and strategies clearly –written and verbal–.

  • Financial Acumen: understand financial reports, costs, budgets and use these to make business decisions.

  • Strategic thinking: strategically oriented, inquisitive and comfortable challenging status quo
